Installed it twice and I still can't get on.

I've tried the dayz forums an I appear to be the only one having this issue. Both times I've installed it I can connect any random server ok I wander about a bit to confirm it's working then log out and go to find a lower ping server...

However, the 2nd, and any subsequent time I try to connect to a dayz server I am kicked out every time by battleye for an "unknown game version".

It works fine the first time, I make no changes whatsoever, and suddenly, somehow, I have a different game version?

  • I installed ARMA2, ran in
  • I installed OA, ran it
  • I installed the 1.6 patch
  • I manually installed dayz

Are you launching Combined Operations?

Copy the ADDON folder from ARMA2 into the OA folder - took me 4 hours to figure that one out.

When you click in a server it shows its version. If it isnt your version the name will show up in red.

Thanks for the replies guys

  • ARMA 2 and OA are installed in the same folder.
  • I am running the game via a OA shortcut.
  • The version number is 1.60, and is the same as the servers unless they require the beta patch in which case I can see that red text, but presumably this is working as intended.

If you didn't know, you have to update ArmA 2 seperately(1.12 I think). It's not sufficient to update only OA.

I did not know that. Are you sure? When I ran the 1.6 patch one of the processes said it was updating ArmA 2 from 1.09 to something.

Thanks for all the help.

I fixed this by uninstalling both versions of battleye and reinstalling the 1.6 patch.

I also ran the dayz autoupdater, it said I was up to date. Not sure if that did anything but can't hurt.
