How to confirm ABB is using encryption while transferring remote backup?
I’m running some tests and I want remote backups to be encrypted while transferring to my NAS. Aside from enabling it, how can I confirm the transfer is actually encrypted? Thank you.

Sniff the traffic with Wireshark and pcaps.
Would I do that on the laptop I’m backing up? Sorry, newbie here.
Yep you could do it there or any device that can pcap. If doing on another device you will want a promiscuous pcap to capture all traffic.
Pcap is not for the faint of heart, and you will want to Google how to use and filter results, but it will get you the info you're looking for.
I used Wireshark and it indicated it’s using TLSv1.2, so I think we’re good to go. It does show the source and destination IP though, is that information not encrypted or hidden?
That's by design. Routers firewalls and applications need that info to know where things go.
OK if you are that much of a newbie I wish you luck configuring it, I think you might want to worry about some simpler things like strong passwords first. Most companies use a https connection to send data.
I’m new to services like Wireshark. My NAS is very well locked away and secure. My concern was solely being able to verify that the data remotely transferring to it is encrypted.
