As a Killer, how do you show respect to a survivor you just hooked?

Discussion

So I went against a very good looper today. They loop me for 3 gens, using 2 average tiles and a jungle gym. It was very enlightening, very fun, and they werent toxic at all. I commited to hone my skills. I had mad respect for them. One of those chases that makes you a better killer and survivor.

Anyway, eventually I get them and hook them. I try to like...bow? looking down and backing away.

Its a shame, isn't it that theres a million ways to be toxic but very few to show respect. I just think we should normalize positive in game interactions and make a clearer etiquette.

Here lately killers love me so much even after chasing me for three gens they stay with me on the hook <3

Facecamping is the highest form of flattery

I'll give them pats on the back while they dangle on the hook

I normally go for the slow bow

So just looking down slowly? yeah I get that, seems sorta...mournful tho

Don’t think there is any other real display that’s respectful or gg like

Same here. I believe the slower it is, the stronger the effect. Performing it well takes valuable seconds.

I once did a slow bow and the Kate I had just hooked accused me of ogling her in the post game chat.

Leave immediately so their teammates can unhook them.

When I encounter a really good survivor, I do my best to let him/her escape.

The survivor hiding in the locker? You hate a date with The Entity.

I feel that if I am going to spare one it is gonna be the one that tried

Nah, I dont like that. Their reward is doing well, they don't need pity

If I have a charge skill, like for example Billy, I'll do that xD

Other than that ...How do I respect a survivor I acknowledge as a shiny pokemon? By killing them. I won't camp, but I will tunnel. Because no matter what survivor I go up against, they seem to all be dropping like flies, flashlight/pallet dependent, they all fall eventually. HOWEVER...this shiny pokemon survivor, will be a pain to catch still even injured, I might not even know if I'll catch him or not. They don't even have flashlights, they're just so unpredictable and sneaky and so aware of the map. I've had one a couple of weeks ago. Amazing feelings. Happens like once every few months if I'm lucky. These survivors are the cherry on top, the unicorn and must be killed, out of pure admiration, putting myself to the test. These survivors give me the THRILL OF THE HUNT feeling like back when I first started. I'm looking forward to the next one <3

So yeah, as toxic as it may sound...I honor them by killing them. I might even let the others go because I'll just stand there, satisfied, fulfilled.

Me too!

It’s respectful to hit them on the hook a few times as a thank you for a good chase.

If you leave before the next hook state, it's considered disrespectful.

I find myself on that very situation. A survivor does some amazing trick that blows up my mind and I just wanna show them respect. But I’m unsure of how doing it without being interpreted as toxic.

So any insightful info would be really appreciate!

Yeah its hard. Aside from a ggs, but if they are crossplay...

Sometimes I nod mid-chase after a good move, but then I lose them. Not worth it.

I usually say "you loop really well (name)"

I just leave them on the hook and let their teammate get them. Nothing much to it

Look at them, nod a shit load, walk away.

Stand there and watch while he/she suffers.

Yeah this, also they like it if you hit them on hook, it's basically a massage
