Newly diagnosed: what’s with the daydreaming?

I just got diagnosed yesterday and before then I never heard of avpd. I was surprised at first, but after the psychiatrist walked me through all of my symptoms, doing my own research, and talking to some friends and family, it makes a LOT of sense. but I just have one question: why daydreaming?

I definitely daydream and have an elaborate fantasy world playing in my head at all times. I never really considered it to be a symptom of anything other than being a complete nerd.

What exactly connects daydreaming to having avpd?
