Am I cursed to forever have a payment reserve?

My shop is based in Norway and I sell far too few items to use bulk shipping services. This means that tracking to the US will cost me at least 40 USD per order. Nobody wants to pay that much for shipping (they have the choice to add on tracking at checkout). I can’t bake it in to the price of my items because that would make them way too expensive. This feels like a great way to screw over international shops…

If you have a shop where you don’t send items with tracking, do you just have a payment reserve forever?
