help with mask/helmet making

Hey everybody, I'm an amateur leather worker and I'm looking into making masks and helmets, I can't get to grips with making the full head masks, I can't seem to grasp how to make a pattern In this way. I want to make comic book themed masks and hoods and thought that you folks could help me learn a bit.
