ETH 2.0 is still 5-6 years away

As seen/ heard on the bankless podcast Vitalik has stated that ETH 2.0 is still 5-6 years away.

Not to mention he has also said gas fees are expected to increase. It looks like they have postponed and now have rebranded as the merge.

Imo and many others ETH moving to p.o.s is not the right approach when there are so many ways to improve the efficiency of p.o.w consensus. Just have a look at what ergo is building and you will see what I mean.

The only reason ETH is in the position it is is it was first to market and so has a huge market capitalisation and utility ( not that your average Joe can afford to use it)

All I'm trying to get across is there's better ways to improve your supply chain proof-of-stake is not the answer to everything. People unreal expectations of eth. They're trying to change the engine while flying the plane.

I'm probably not eloquent enough to get my point across but if you know you know.

I'm all about the eutxo model the functionality of brings is going to change the game
