Has truck demand fallen with the increase in gas prices?
Curious if now is a good time to buy a truck or if it's still the same.

Nope. This question comes up everytime gas gets marginally more expensive.
For sure, but it wasn't a marginal increase this time around. Pretty significant increase, especially compared to last year.
It is gonna take longer, and require a sustained increase in gas, for us to see how it impacts lower mpg vehicle sales.
And they've already started going back down. The current economy couldn't withstand gas prices high enough to make a noticeable dent in demand for gas guzzlers.
If you need a truck, you need a truck. Doesn't matter how much gas is, you can't tow 10,000lbs in a Civic.
Most of the people I know don't "need" a truck but they have one, I know it's anecdotal but I imagine a good number of sales fall in that category.
To be fair.. I used to hate that everyone drove big trucks when they never did big truck stuff in them.. I still do, but I at least kind of understand it now.
A crew cab truck is a much more comfortable way to move 4/5 people than most SUVs.
And while prices may have scared off some people, it's not enough to counteract the shortened supply.
And that's really all my question was, if the supply might've been catching up finally or if it changed nothing at all.
pretty sure the majority of these people would buy a truck regardless. Truck people want trucks
Not sure why you are downvoted for truth on this. Pickup trucks went from being almost shunned to a status symbol in the last few decades. Didn't help that they started making "luxury" models.
Because car salesmen hate their lives.
The answer is a resounding "yes". Why, I had a HIgh Country Duramax Dually arrive here a couple weeks ago that actually made it through the gauntlet of customer orders and people placing deposits and here's the wacky part: that truck not only made it to our lot, it sat for two days before someone bought it! TWO WHOLE DAYS! I just knew it was the price of diesel and not the $80,000 price tag.
What’s that monthly? Lol
No money down $1350-1600 depending on credit and term. I don’t think someone spending that Mind of money really gives a fuck about gas prices but that’s just me.
Was just a joke about people only caring about the payment.
Is it time for this question again already?
A search didn't yield any results.
bullshit.

What do you mean bullshit, says nothing about DEMAND. Can't even get a truck around here right now. Search truck demand and let me know what the results are in the last month.
did you read a single one of the multiple threads in that search or do you really think asking the same question in a different way will yield the answer you want?

Haven’t noticed a change in sales. We actually get more shoppers thinking there are deals to be had on truck because of the gas prices. Almost like it did the opposite.
I was wondering if this would be the case too. I’ve learned that if I’m thinking something, then it’s probably the average response.
Not a car salesman but I drive a pick up truck. While gas sucks, I justify it by knowing I’m likely to survive a nasty car accident way more easily than a small little Corolla. Also, I have a bed to pack stuff in, a giant cabin that can I fit people in. Gas will go back down eventually so In the mean time I’ll just sit tight and not drive as much as before. I’m actually looking at getting another one as mine is getting up there in miles. I would like a little beater car to have so I’m not putting as many miles on my daily ride though
