So it’s a challenge between you and yourself? I love that you know your worth though!!!!
Yes! Challenge with my self and my bipolar disorder
Thank you so much ❤️
This is such an accurate and concise description of being bipolar. You captured it perfectly -not that I would know or anything /s-
"when i'm in the mall buying a skirt" - conveys a feeling of how you are so accustomed to the conflict that it is completely a part of even your daily routine. The speaker also sort of conveys a feeling of hopelessness or apathy, i get the sense that "oh this sucks, i will win." but doesn't know how to, and the most important thing is that despite how engrained and constant the fight is, the speaker knows that they, themselves are valid irregardless so it will be okay. Somehow.
🥺🥺 you completely understood ❤️
Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).
If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.
If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

You're beautiful and you got this
Awww thank you darling 💜
Good afternoon, Jadedbarbie11. I liked the poem. I felt the poem as a looping video of the daily life of a bipolar. I disagree with the colleague who suggested you describe more, and I do so for two reasons. The first reason I disagree is that precisely by describing little, by economizing on words, you increase the power of generalization of your poem, so the reader can interpret more freely and write the poem together with the author. The second reason that makes me disagree is the title, because reading the title and the poem already helps a lot to locate the theme, but without losing the power of generalization that I mentioned in the lines above, precisely because of the absence of unnecessary descriptions. If you will allow me a suggestion, I would like to suggest that you rethink the last lines of the poem. Is that the feeling you want to work on in this poem? For looking at the poem as a whole the ending seems a bit out of the way. Here I push even more and I apologize for that, but maybe the word you're looking for is learning rather than winning. In addition I would also like to suggest that you not change the lines of the poem. So leave the possible modifications for future poems. Wabi-sabi. May we all learn more about the pains of existing, especially about how we can smile about the tragic weight of freedom, responsibility and contingency. Keep writing! Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you so much for the positive message, I will surely work harder on my next poem, I appreciate your dedicated feedback. You’re amazing 🙏🏽
Yep. I am bipolar and totally hear this. Constant battle. You can do it!
I think you could maybe explain what you meant with the first two lines a bit better, rephrase them so we could get more of an idea of what you actually meant by them. I think another thing you could do is write more lines and then trim it back and keep all the best ones.
I do have bipolar myself and I (think?) I know what you meant by the line about the skirt. By that I mean I have spending problems which is linked to the condition 😭
Spending issues for sure!! I will try writing more lines, thank you for your constructive feedback
