Snow

Poem

The street jittered past like frames of a picture, dark green snapshots of hedges staining my vision before blurring into gray, potholed concrete or a dark black sky. My thoughts ground the world around me to a halt as the fiery cold tore my face inwards to a point around my nose, burning the edges of my body, ears, nose fingers. the snow glittered, suspended in flight. As I made my way up the hill took my first breath, A deep, deliberate inhale, the freezing flames tore through my throat, deep into my lungs, the cold a burning warmth within me. As I passed a lamp post the snow caught in the warm grasp of its light, jittering downwards. https://www.reddit.com/r/OCPoetry/comments/u7wrgv/comment/i5hbnmv/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Hello readers, welcome to OCpoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community -- a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry", or "loved it" or "so relateable", please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

The way you described everything was amazing. I could paint a picture in my head of every word you said so vividly. I will say however that I did struggle to understand what the poem is about, I know it's about snow but I feel there's a deeper meaning I'm missing? I'm very new to poetry so I'm still struggling to read between the lines I guess. Other than that was a really nice read. Thank you for your words

There's not really a meaning lol, it's just a description of walking back home in the snow
