Are Graphic Design jobs that have to deal with print production usually this bad?

Discussion

Let me just share this little thing I'm writing for a glassdoor review, it really bothered me and it was to vent. Now, I've never worked on a role that was made from design to print on Kiosk designs, and making many new ones on the daily, while also working on brochures and things. Like, I might do at most 5-10 kiosk designs a day, and have randomly approved ones coming in. But, does production typically look at it once more before printing at other jobs? How many errors are typically unacceptable?

I have since taken them off of my linkedin work history.

"They apparently expected literally no human error after the first month, despite them admitting they made at least one similar mistake every week or so as well. Starting out, I made maybe a one or two a week, should be understandable for a certain period I think. So after the first month they took away the “hybrid” status of the job (yes, extremely WEIRD “punishment”) until I could get it to just one a week. Not long later I succeeded and got the actual bad mistakes down to one a week. Soon after that, they lied and changed the rule to 0 a week. I eventually achieved that goal after a few weeks of quadruple checking everything, and even recorded my own progress to show proof of it. No errors in 2.5 weeks.

Then in between, there were typical errors. Some just little things based on miscommunication of wording, and it was counted against me of course... like they needed more small excuses for a decision they probably made months ago, because it felt like the first moment I made a mistake it was already decided that I was going to be let go. After that point, it felt like a shift in tone of everything going forward from that point. Very odd decision making in my opinion. Only -they- can make errors with no consequence I guess, new hires be damned. I have my own style in taking notes that I think was criticized, since I can only type so fast and it’s better for my ADD/ADHD, despite there not being anything wrong with the way I take them. The whole experience was very odd and peculiar.

My advice to them... maybe ask production to take one additional step and look things over before printing if it’s really costly when it comes to mistakes. There’s really no reason or excuse that can’t be done as an extra measure, instead of needlessly axing the first wave of what could have been 2 waves of checks."
