New build won’t post?
I’m attempting to put together another build that was recommended on the front page of PC Park picker and I can’t get it to post. Here’s a list of components and what I’ve tried
• Intel 12700k
• Asus 3700ti
• ASRock Z690 PG Riptide
• Silicon Power Value Gaming DDR4 RAM 32GB (16GBx2)
• Silicon Power 1TB - NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 SSD
• Noctua NH-D15 w/ 1700 socket adapter kit
• Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W
I can ‘strip’ down the build to only having one stick of ram in B2 or A2 (per ASRock), the processor and fan plugged into the CPU fan slot, with 24pin ATX between PS and mobo (100% seated), 4 pin (with or without nearby 8 pin) ATX for CPU to PS (100% seated) and the darn thing won’t post.
Post status checker lights ‘light up’ VGA and BOOT, but that happens with or without the graphics card or NVMe connected. CPU and DRAM do not stay lit up.
I have verified the power / reset / LED +/- are in the correct position. I can power it up and I hear the PS click on - the CPU fan spins up and the mobo RGB LED’s fire up, but after that it does nothing.
Any thoughts / ideas / suggestions?

The troubleshooting LEDs on your motherboard turn off when the named component is functioning normally. So it's telling you it's not detecting a video adapter or primary storage module.
You don't need a storage module to POST, but you definitely need a video adapter. Having one built into your 12700K makes this easy to test.
Firstly, leave the 24pin ATX and 8+4pin EPS12V connectors plugged in, connect your CPU cooler as intended and leave the GPU out of the system. Then try starting the system with your monitor plugged into your motherboard's HDMI port.
Does a monitor need to be physically connected for it to post, though? I always thought / assumed it didn't. I've actually already performed this (below) and it still won't post:
I'll test the monitor theory tonight. I've had a monitor / keyboard plugged in at some point throughout all of the connection process, but not sure what combination it was in when I did.
