Anyone had their gaping bodice taken in?

Hello lovelies ,

So I said to the dress last weekend and I love it! :) The lady at the store said the bust was a little big for me as the cup size sewn in was a standard size and my breasts are a little on the smaller size (B cup) . She said after alternations it would lie flat on my chest but my mother who is more knowledgeable than me says she isn’t so sure there is enough tension to do that (whatever that means haha) I tried making an appointment with my local seamstress but she isn’t free until June.

Has anyone had a similar issue that was fixed with alternations? The dress fits perfectly everywhere else it’s just the bust when I turn to the side (from straight on it fits)

I’m so worried it can’t be fixed now.
