WIBTA if I confront my new roommates about dishes
I just moved into a house a couple weeks ago. When I first moved in, the place was pretty clean. It must’ve just been for show though because there’s been a constant issue with cleanliness since I moved in. When I first moved in, the sink was already overflowing with dishes and it took a few days before anyone cleaned them. Then one of the roommates (the guy who’s been here longest) came home after being away for a couple weeks. He brought a bunch of friends with him and they ended up partying for a few days straight (last night they were up until 10 or 11 loudly playing guitar and singing and stuff). The sink was again overflowing with dishes and multiple of the guests promised me they were going to clean before they left. When I got home from work today, they were all gone and none of the dishes were cleaned - they didn’t even have the decency to scrape the food off of some of it. The roommate who had all the guests over left town again so he probably won’t even be back for a few days at the very least.
I know I have every right to be pissed about this but I just moved in a couple weeks ago so I don’t want to end up causing strain on our relationships by constantly having to call this shit out - I’ve already had to text the group chat a few times about missing items and stolen food. I definitely need to do something but I’m worried that everyone’s going to start getting pissed at me for constantly asking them to treat the common areas with respect and that somehow I’ll become the asshole of the house for doing that.
