my boyfriend is an addict

i came to get some advice or peace of mind or even just to get this off my chest. my boyfriend of only a few months (we had mutual friends the past few years, we would hangout casually, where i was aware he did drugs frequently and had addiction problems) and now that we are dating it seems he cannot stay sober 24 hours from alcohol, he misses benzos and opioids and talks about them frequently as if daydreaming about it, and has made countless innuendos to doing it together. i’m really uneasy about the people i love falling into pills like this, i know he’s been doing this for almost eight years, i will sometimes give him a 1mg kpin if he decides to be sober from alcohol all night, since he says it calms him down, and i’m kinda just lost as to where to go from here. i love him but i do not want to be constantly worried or feel that my s/o has some untouchable desire because of my views on him falling back into addiction.
