What’s the general consensus on cleaning methods? Run them on the dry side or use rem oil like Microtech suggests?

I’m finding online that Microtech’s recommended maintenance can introduce problems where there weren’t any. I’ve also seen lighter fluid recommended as a dry lube. Obviously compressed air to blow out debris but should I being doing a “flush” every so often? Thanks in advance
