Should I mention my financial conditions?

So, I’ve been homeless for a couple of years in elementary school and my family continues to be in a really bad financial condition. Should I write my essays on this? I’ve heard that colleges like stories about difficulties in life, and I was wondering if this is anything that will benefit me when applying to college. I’m a current junior. Will this increase my chances on getting admitted or should I not bring this up (will it hurt my chances instead?) And if it does help me, how much? I plan on applying to pretty top schools, (GPA:3.8, SAT: 1450, ec are really good) Thank you for any help, I’m first gen and the oldest sibling so any advice is much appreciated.
