Excited about the future
Happy rant.
I interviewed for my first year internship for my MSW program today at a cancer center. The two LCSWs that will be my supervisors were nothing short of amazing. They spoke so highly of each other, the interdisciplinary team that they are apart of, and the hospital in general. Both have been in the field for over 25 years, which really gave me hope as I have read a lot of (understandable) burn out posts. I can tell that these women really want me to get the most from this internship. They have set up days for me to shadow different disciplines within the hospital (pharmacy, nursing, hospice, ED, etc) so I can gain a deeper understanding of what every person brings to the team. I haven't felt excitement about my future in a long time, and the interview just really sparked something inside of me. Before this I was in the military, so being somewhere where I am cared about and respected just feels unbelievable.
