Remake Ideas

Hi, upcoming filmmaker here. I’m a huge fan of War of The Worlds (2005). I love Spielberg’s terrifying, iconic, and cinematic take on the novel by H.G. Wells. I’m interested in one day, remaking the film, and further improving the realism. I been brainstorming some ideas including setting, plot, and characters. It would definitely take place during present day which would benefit the unexpected since we are currently at war with ourselves. I am open to ideas that would benefit the story and plot. I think the less we know about the aliens, the more frightening they are. For example we should refer to them as “them” and we should have no idea of their origin. Spielberg’s adaptions did have a few minor flaws, such as, some of the soundtracks were a tad cheesy, Robbie’s issues were not explored or improved on, and we have very little knowledge on what the invasion would look like on a metropolis based area. Please feel free to suggest any ideas or improvements. Aliens will have the almost the same structure and appearance but with a slight remodification for realistic purposes, basically a remaster.
