Choppy play with new update and snow that's blinding

Can anyone help with the settings I should be using? With this latest update, I'm running very choppy. And it's winter so I'm blinded and choppy. lol that's like a recipe for a quick death.

Previous versions of the game have been very smooth.

Thanks,
