Civ VI Expansions Opinion Piece
First off I am a Civ lifer. Started playing early in my childhood with civ 4, back before the octagon maps. I played civ 4, 5 and 6 into the ground. Days upon days of gameplay. I’ve beaten the hardest difficulty on every game. Since they brought back religion my strat is military/religious victories, paired with a dominant economy (maximum trade routes and influence to city states).
Recently I decided to download all of the civ 6 expansions and they have totally blown up my strategy! The loyalty aspect is punishing for military victories and now with gathering storm some of my cities rebel for no reason with literally no warning. Went from Deity to Emperor difficulty in games. I’ll eventually figure out a new strat once I play enough. Needless to say I am not a fan of the expansions for ruining my in game abilities.
For those that stuck with me, do I need to entirely change my strategy due to loyalty or are their remedies to deal with this? (aside from obvious ones like placing a governor)
