Would replacing EVAP purge valve help?

I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata SE 2.0 Turbo engine. For the past few months, my car would stutter/sputter for the first few miles after getting gas (mainly when accelerating). I stop fueling right when it clicks or before it clicks, however it still does this. I had no code for months until recently, P0455 large EVAP leak. I replaced the gas cap however that did not get rid of the code.

I took it to a mechanic, and they ran two emissions tests and it passed both. They said they cleared the code, but they didn't even check my purge valve. Anyway, the code has not come back, however I filled up on fuel a few days ago and it was still having this issue... They want to charge $300-$500 to replace the purge valve (if they run another diagnostic to confirm) but I can get the part online for like $40.

My question is, does this sound like it could be the purge valve, and if so, is this something I could replace easily? I am suggesting purge valve because that's what I kept seeing when researching online. I never worked on cars before, but I do not want to pay that much money if it is something a beginner can do. I just don't want to mess up my car.
