What firmware(s) are prone to RLOD or issues?

I was wondering which firmware(s) are prone to RLOD or any well-known issues. I have a mini S. The firmware on the board is v2.7.1 and the battery is v1.6.3. Just wanted to know so I can look out for my board (: also if someone can explain battery balancing or link a vid or something that would be so kind
