Bought the basic Roadster V2 model with the intention of possibly adding the gravel addition upgrades later. Any advice?

I basically have no experience with modding bikes, but I need a bike for commuting next year and I settled on the Roadster. I am interested in potentially upgrading the tires and brake pads to gravel and disc brakes respectively because the gravel edition was just out of stock. Any advice? I was looking at the tires and brakes the gravel edition ships with, WTB Resolute 700Cx42 and Tektro Aries Mechanical 160mm Disc brakes.
