The New York Times, CNN, NBC, FOX, and AP have all reported that J.D. Vance, author of "Hillbilly Elegy", has won the Republican primary for Senator in the state of Ohio after a long flight 3 horse primary.

He will face Tim Ryan, a current member of the House of Representatives from Ohio in November. Vance has allegedly won by around 6/7/8 points. Vance was endorsed by Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, which means his win marks a key victory for his hold over the GOP.

The latest hypothetical poll, from August of 2021, had Ryan leading with 36%, with Vance not far behind at 33%. 3% voted "Other", and 24% were undecided.
