New Player (Help?)

Hello everyone!
I bought REmake 3 recently because it was on sale and really enjoyed it (I am not a veteran RE fan, but I know its not generally liked in the community). Then I bought REmake 2 and loved that. While scanning to see what else was out there, I saw I had RE:REsistence and didn't try it because I heard the game was dead. I recently just played it and got to play as my favourite villain, G-Birkin(/Annette) and it was so much fun! I did the tutorial and a practice match but I was still just throwing random bullshit (half the time in the middle of no where) and whenever I summoned G-Birkin he never got any use. they just ran and hid in the spawn room I couldn't enter or just ran away. He is super slow and I dont really wanna play another mastermind. Am I missing something? I appreciate any tips or help for this game as I hope to play it more regularly.
