A sort of epiphany

Question

I am currently not diagnosed but very symptomatic. I also happen to have epilepsy which has permanently traumatised me and given me some symptoms of PTSD because of how dreadful my seizures were. I sometimes get random spells of panic when there's a lot of stuff going on, I feel an urge to cover my eyes for some reason, and I always attributed it to the epilepsy. Bright lights don't give me seizures but the after image from bright lights looks like the hallucination I would have before a seizure and it sends me into a full screaming panic on occasion.

However, I just realised, what if this is just sensory overload? What if it was the autism all along? An aversion to lots of very very loud sound and bright lights, an urge to cover my eyes to shield myself from the brightness or else begin to hyperventilate and shake and all that. It could be autism and not epilepsy.

I don't really know
