AITA For not helping my friend?

Not the A-hole

Am I the asshole for not letting my friend move in? So I recently got a two bedroom apartment with my boyfriend and life for me has been going well. My friend’s life on the other hand has not been going well. As soon as I graduated HS I went off to college. While my friend realized her mother was abusive and moved out to live with her dad. 5 years after HS my friend got her first job and was still living with her father. During the 5 years she wasn’t working I took her on a tour of a college and talked to her about other options she can look into and told her to get a job. She kept saying she would get a job and would go to college. It wasn’t until her dad went into the store by their house and saw a help wanted sign and he talked to the owner and got her a job. She worked there for a couple of months and then the pandemic hit. She ended up losing her job and a year later her father passed away. So many awful things happened to her after from family members just taking money out of his room the day he died, to another family selling her car without her knowledge, and once the eviction law was lifted she was kicked out of her dad’s apartment for not paying rent. She recently got a job and is living with her abusive mom. She is upset that she was only given a month to find a new place or she will be homeless and doesn’t have enough money coming in to get an apartment. She is also mad because it turns out her mom took out a credit card under her name and ruined her credit score. So apartments have been turning her away left and right. She asked me if she could move in with me and I ignored her comment. I understand she has been screwed over by everyone in her life and the only person who actually helped her has passed away but I think it would ruin our friendship to let her move in until she found another place. But if I don’t let her move in she could become homeless. Am I the asshole?

Update: my friend has gotten an offer to be someone’s roommate and is getting ready to leave her mom’s soon and I am so grateful for this! Thank you everyone for the advice and I am going to help her move. Still trying to think of some good move in presents for her. Maybe beauty stuff. Stuff she likes and is usually needed.
