pain help?
How do you guys discuss pain management with your doctors? I’ve gone through every over the counter medication option and various prescriptions. i’m onto intramuscular toradol as needed with robaxin 500mg in between, which doesn’t even help even if i double the dose to 1000mg nor does it make me sleepy. The pain feels so deep that i almost doubt that it’s muscular. considering the toradol limitations on doses longer than 5 days, i feel out of options. i desperately also tried voltaren gel, lidocaine patches, lidocaine cream, but nothin. non medication i have tried both ice and heat. on really bad days i take out the norco leftover from my lap and use that, and its like peace for a few hours.
how in depth do you describe your pain to your physicians? have you ever asked for a specific drug? i want my doctor to know the reality of what i’m feeling then decide what she thinks is best to treat it, but i want that treatment to make me able to function in real life, so i don’t miss any more work or lose both of my jobs.
i have stage 4 DIE, i had a lap with endometrioma and “severe” endo excised, was present on uterosacral ligaments & elsewhere but i can’t remember where else right now. my current doctor is new due to moving away from my old doctor.
i’m just not sure how to navigate discussing this with my doctor and how to tell her the current toradol and robaxin are not working or how to communicate the specific pains i feel
Thank you for any responses in advance :)
ETA even tho i just posted lol: due to my jobs restrictions, THC is not an option but any federally legal prescriptions are ok
