Is this really Guardian Games?

So I just finished my first day of Guardian Games 2022 and to be honest I’m at lost for words. The event is literally just Strikes and Nightfalls, just like last year. Theres nothing new. Not even a new exotic.

I mean a single SMG to grind for, the awesome armor shown in the TWAB cost silver to buy, the laurels have been reduced to a bounty currency, and again the only “activities” are relabeled Strikes and Nightfalls, and from what I can tell there is no connection to the current story. Am I missing something?

What is the point of this event? I’m happy that as of this moment the Warlocks are winning seeing how they haven’t won a event yet, but still. The 2022 Guardian Games feels pointless. The SMG is interesting, but it doesn’t make up for the weeks of dry content due to the rushing of Season 16.

IDK, is anyone else feeling this, or am I really missing something.
