Possible adhd diagnosis coming
Hello, I (33M) don’t know what I’m looking for - maybe advice? Maybe a sympathetic ear? I don’t know…
I’m going through multiple tests with my psychologist and doctor right now and we’re leaning towards “inattentive subtype” adult adhd.
This comes as a huge shock to me. I was never hyperactive as a kid, I was always good in school, but in the past couple years I have had some major stressors at work and it’s felt like the walls are crumbling around me. I’m suffering from constant exhaustion, weight gain (I was never skinny, but now it’s significant), brain fog and I can’t seem to focus well on tasks/get bored easily. I have to constantly scribble notes when in meetings because I can’t remember the majority of what was said.
I have been through multiple physical medical tests, as well as tons of blood work and nothing can be found. I’ve also been treated for depression for ~7 years with no improvement…
So I guess what I’m asking is - does this sound like anyone else’s experience? Did treatment/medication help? What questions should I be asking my doctors to get to the bottom of this?
I’m getting really frustrated that We can’t seem to find a label to place on what’s going on in my body…
Anyway - thanks for listening! Any advice would be welcomed!
