Boss 50 for bedroom, how quick is the midi controllers, is their delay with a midi pedal?

Im in need of a new study/studio rig as Ive moved and starting from scratch.

Was going to buy and modify a Laney 15 tube amp, then put a GT1 or Mooer GE200 into the FX loop.

That all adds up to about $1k in my country, not a lot. But the Katana and Tone Studio really sound just as legit as ME pedals to me, is that fair statement? I know some of the Fractal Audio gear sounds killa in front of a Tube amp, but the price is just to high.

I didnt want the bigger 100 for this small study room I have, but I really need minimum 4 stomps and 1 expression.

Luckily I came across this brilliant post Controlling the Katana with a MIDI controller (howto)

So I looked at the Behringer 1010. 10 stomps (more than enough) and 2 expressions, oh brilliant.
$250

Boss Katana 50mk2 $500

So $750 all up. Pretty darn good value if I can combine all the Tone Studio effects in the 1010. My question is, is there a major delay, or does the midi go straight from the pedals to the amp? Or does the 1010 go to a computer and back through the amp? (that would cause delay)

Im an experimentalist in sound, I love ambient guitar, started way back with Gilmour and The Flloyd.

I like to play all genres and experiment with various phrasings and modes. I also enjoy Pysch Rock and Hendrix I learnt to play from on VHS tape, I eventually got better once I trained what I learnt from eair. Im also very influenced by early Metal, Sabbath, Deep Purple (even if its not strictly metal), Metallica, EVH, the list goes on.

Im also a Tube amo purist, nothing like an earlier AC15 set to just breaking up at vol 10, a strat maple finger board and some classic blues and rock. The presence is hard to simular. I feel the Fractal gets as close as it will ever get, but for me the Tone Studio is plenty close enough.

So I need a rig that can simulate nearly everything. So the Katana looks the goods for this?

So will the midi do me right and is the Katana 50 a good choice?

If I look around I can probably get that price down to $550 on the used market with the Behringer 1010.
