The most ANNOYING coworker

I’m (22M) working with this person (30’sF) 2 evenings per week, 5 hours each. At first it was nice chit chatting with her and learning more about her, and just shooting the shit.

Now though, it’s like nails on chalkboard every time I hear her speak. She says “like” every second word and she can’t seem to keep an inside voice because she basically yells everything she says. I’ll be ok for the first hour or two working with her but towards the end of my shift I’m so burnt out and I’m just giving her one-word answers as she continues to monologue at me about anything.

I find myself taking 10 minute bathroom breaks just to get away from her because I’m getting headaches listening to her for 5 hours at a time. She must speak 100,000 words each time we work together. I just don’t have the energy to sustain meaningless conversation for that long but I don’t have the heart to say that to her.

How do I go about this? Currently writing this in the bathroom as I’m taking my solace away from her.
