37yo and just diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve
To make a long story short I went in for a physical, had an abnormal ekg which led me to a cardiologist and now the bicuspid diagnosis. I'm pretty early in this process having only done the 1st ultrasound from the outside. I went to a local Dr but now working on seeing a Dr in Houston who specializes in these things for a 2nd opinion before I get the throat one. I regularly compete in jiu-jitsu and muay thai tournaments, so it's been a major mind screw to go from feeling like I'm in the best shape of my life to this. I'm extremely anxious, having trouble sleeping, and now feel like im experiencing symptoms even tho I had none just last week before I was diagnosed. Has anyone been through these kinds of things? Is there anything that helps? Just knowing so many people have been through this before has already been helpful but still.
