Downloading Mods Help

I just downloaded SMAPI and went to download mods and nothing will even start downloading. I'm trying to use NexusMods. I click Vortex>Download>Slow Download. Then it says 'Your download has started' and nothing happens so I click 'download manually' and still nothing. I have tried several different mods and even moved my entire Stardew Valley save location (the game still works and I moved SMAPI as well) just to see if maybe the save location was too full for these and nothing. I'm at a complete loss. I'm not having any difficulty downloading anything else. Thank you in advance for anyone who reads this and attempts to help me!!

edit: i spoke to some other modders and it looks like nexus is just having issues with their website atm
