Seal up a sump pit?

Home is 16 years old with no history of flooding. It has a sump pit in the far corner, it’s never had a pump. The pit is normally dry, but it’ll hold a few inches of water during the rainy months (3’ deep pit). Looking to finish my basement now, can I just seal this thing up and floor over it?
