How to not feel hopeless?
Hello, all! I'm currently in the dumpster fire that is the US, and as some if you may know, Roe v. Wade looks like it's going to be overturned and abortion rights in many states are hanging in the balance. On top of things like the Russian invasion of Ukraine, increasingly alarming legislature against trans and gay people, and climate change, among other things.
It feels like every time I see some good news about people's daily struggles against oppression, like the recent rises in unionization, four more issues crop up. It feels like for every one step forward, we take two steps back, and change is happening too little and maybe too late. Then t top it off, I'm in a position right now where I'm unable to participate in much organizing or community action due to health concerns, so I feel like I'm not doing my share, either. Nihilism has never been my thing, but it's been a little harder to be an optimist ever since I became an anarchist, and just in general lately.
Do you have any advice on how to keep your morale up, even when it feels like everything sucks?
