The Campaign hasn't even started and.....

So here’s some possible new game drama

The setting is at level 1 with characters in the end of their teens just before joining Guilds or taking on careers, about 18-20’s

One character has the criminal – blackmailer background “Garry” who has a regret’s a crime and is trying to atone for

One character is a Draconic bloodline orphan “Jane”

The possible plot involves

The criminal organisation Garry worked for obtained mercenaries via blackmail of their chief to raid a dragon horde. In the process the mercenaries killed the male or female, haven’t decided yet, dragon guarding the hoard.

The hoard was dropped off, mercenaries paid, and blackmail evidence surrendered, case closed.

Except

One of the chests was an illusion disguised baby bed with one baby girl inside, Jane.

Showing a bit of mercy, one of the criminals dropped Jane off at an orphanage rather than have her become part of the organisation.

Now Jane’s very angry, revenge seeking parent has hunted down the mercenaries and is planning to work through the criminal organisation until they find Jane and avenge their partner.

So, some questions

Is this to hokey?

Is this fair to lumber the characters with? (They opted for orphan and criminal so it’s pretty much asking me to turn it to crap on them right? 😊)

Would it be more effective to reveal the parent dramatically or a dawning realisation?
