Being a Halo fan feels like being aboard the Titanic

Great exterior, great first impressions however when you hop aboard you don’t know you’re being led to a tragic slow death (of your love of halo) all because your captain is incompetent.

My start to season 2:

I hopped on for season 2 for the first time in a few months and I play a few rounds of the new mode- it’s different, not my thing but whatever the map is pretty cool feeling and looking.

Then I find out challenges don’t track, I google it and it says well the actual match has to end. Ok that kind of makes sense, I go do some dishes come back and still no progress. Another internet search says I need to play another game for it to actually track… alright. I play again and win and only get 1/2 last man standing games complete. The headshot challenge also isn’t properly tracking. Sweet start to the season with bugged challenges that are a part of the limited time event.

Hey you know what? Maybe server issues with all the new players or something. I keep playing and see I have a play a free for all game. Cool I’ll play Rumble or whatever they renamed it… I get rocket oddball.

Now this is new and kinda fun complete chaos but like a minute in it’s abundantly clear this was never play tested as the match seems to go to 80 or 100. Rumble oddball with infinite rockets on a tiny map… ya never going to happen.

While I play waiting for the timer to end I’m quite glad I’m not a big ffa fan because now I can no longer play slayer or even a somewhat competitive gametype- I may end up with a joke cluster fuck of rocket oddball.

Game ends and again no challenge progress towards my ffa challenge. I play 2 more games and still no progress. I’m assuming they broke the challenges with the playlist title change…

This is a stupid rant but I mean really the whole progression system and main season monetary driver (the season pass) is driven by challenges that are obviously broken. Additionally, this is halo and they give us variety by having 1 ffa playlist and then add action sack type gametypes into it? Wtf?

We can go on about all of the short comings and everything they are late on but really even super basic stuff they can’t get right. From having their challenge system work to not mixing action sack gametypes in an otherwise normal playlist.
