Nurse asking inappropriate questions??

So I (24F) recently moved from a large coastal city in America to a small Midwestern town for a job. I went to the gynecologist for the first time today. The gynecologist was great, although I do miss my doctors in my hometown as they were so amazing and understanding.

The person who took my vitals in the beginning (not sure if she was a nursing assistant or what the proper title is) had never heard of vaginismus and started asking me what I felt were inappropriate questions. She asked me if I am going to be able to have kids, how do I go about dating, how do men react when I tell them about my condition, that must be so difficult since not a lot of men would put up with that, etc. After the question about having kids I started crying and she kept pressing lol.

I should add that she wasn’t writing any of this down so I can only assume that she was asking me for her own curiosity. Before she got the doctor she said “I mean it’s interesting!” Like so glad my condition is so interesting to you!

Has anyone else had an experience like this?? Maybe it’s normal but it felt very unprofessional to me.
