Job Search and Drug Tests: Worried about being blacklisted

Hi all,

Apologies in advance for the odd question. I recently graduated from a school in a state where rec. marijuana is legal. I am now in another state and starting the job search in the chemical industry. I have successfully abstained for several days now.

My question is this: Would it be a good idea to refrain from applying to jobs before the stuff leaves my system? My concern is that I will be required to take a drug test before this happens; as many local companies are in the pharmaceutical industry.

Does anyone here have experience or know of anyone who has failed a test and has been barred from applying to a certain company in the future? I would hate to get an interview only to be blacklisted.
