How to remotely provision a Teams phone without a "field technician"

Question

Lets say a Teams phone needs to be factory reset. Or you send a new one to a location with a cat6 cable and tell a user to plug it into the jack on the wall. You already have DHCP reservations setup.

I know you can remotely sign in and out of the phone with the TAC, but I don't get how to activate it. I found this section (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/devices/remote-provision-remote-login) where you can upload mac addresses of phones and get activation codes, but it says a technician needs to be at the phone and punch in the code.

These are Yealink T56a's and I also don't see any option in the web UI of the phones for provisioning, just "auto-provision". Is it really not possible to do this without someone physically at the phone?
