It was during the pandemic. It's gone from NXT 2.0 nowadays.

Around NXT TakeOver 31. I’m probably wrong when saying this but I think they were finally able to bring an audience back( which is why it was implemented) and it not only protected the wrestlers but also added (imo) a pretty dope visual aesthetic to it. It’s just the same plastic glass that Raw and SD used when they were doing shows at the Performance Center (PC for short).

That’s since changed since NXT 2.0 began. NXT when through a whole rebranding from the iconic black and gold to as I like to call it “rainbow vomit”. The cage and tall glass are now gone, but I think they still do their shows at the PC. They finally did a PPV outside of the PC which was the TakeOver before Mania last month.

They added in the NXT 2.0 arena in the 1.09 patch, see if you like it. I like it, but some don’t.

So I haven’t watched WWE for a number of years. I started watching during this year’s Wrestlemania.

I decided to get the video game “WWE 2k22”. I noticed that the NXT arena now has a cage surrounding the crowd, with the exception of the “family/friends area”.

When did this cage get implemented and why? To be honest, I’d be bummed out if I had to sit there with my view of the match obscured.
