These summoning dogs are useless

So, I upgraded my spirit ash dogs to a +3 and I’m here in Liurnia of the Lakes and I am level 28 and getting Rick rolled. I’m a vagabond and idk wtf I’m supposed to do/ I killed godrick the grafted and I got his ax so I’m just trying to focus on my strength and dex to equip it.
