I was dancing around the diagnosis question w/ my T, and I think he thinks it may be NPD

I asked him if I had BPD-- this is after 4 years of working together on and off -- and he said no, and I said I thought I might be Codependent, to which he seemed non-reactive, but then I said I was worried that in the beginning that I had NPD, and he sort of nodded but didn't confirm and said that the most important thing is that we've been addressing my issues. Our next meeting is tomorrow, and I'm a little apprehensive because of the stigma of such a diagnosis, and also the general lack of self-awareness this seems to suggest on my part after talking about my NPD mother for so long. I've been reading about symptoms, and I do think that some traits would present in therapy as that. It's painful to think of myself one way and come across to someone else another way. Ex. I'm an artist, and perhaps some of that discussion has come across as grandiose. Also, what may read as a lack of empathy toward others is, in my mind, a deep exhaustion of parenting my mother and sister. Has anyone else encountered anything like this in their therapeutic work and would be willing to share feelings/outcomes. Thank you.
