How viable are gurjara long swords against pikes?
With the ut and supplies they cost only 34 f and 20 g which is slightly cheaper than goth longswords (42f 14f) though more gold intensive. Imperial age def not too viable due to lack of champs and blast furnace.
The lack of squires does suck tho, but I guess you can always reposition your cav behind them when they're being chased by pikes.
On the other hand, chakrams need to be massed and are harder to do so, and you'd need the UT and inf blacksmith techs as longswords anyways.
Maybe they should give gurjaras squires (and remove arson as balance?)

Gurjaras are very awkward to play, like a aoe4 civ( quite unique). They don't have knights, arbalest, champions as well as pikemen.
As mentioned by op, their long swords are cheap and average but nothing to write home about. They can stuggle in late imp if they can't mass a lot of chakram throwers, or elephant archers or hand canons. They should be given some alternative ways to counter mass halb and skirm armies.
No they should not. Their two-handed swordsmen are laughably cheap after UT and supplies and they are equipped with +4 infantry armor which is the most important upgrade to kill skirms.
This civ is incredibly unique and creatively designed. I wouldn't call it over- or underpowered at the moment which makes buffs and the additional options you ask for very much unnecessary.
EDIT: I would like to add that pure halb+skirm is not a army compisition you will encounter a lot anyway. And even if you did, you can still go hussar+ele archer with optional add-ons of onagers+BBCs which will absolutely roflstomp halbs and skirms.
