Boundary violations and perceived disrespect triggers
Definitely been triggered yesterday to the point of adrenalized anger. insomnia/rumination combo and a mix of depression today
I'd already been triggered earlier in the day by the attitude of a contractor retained by the letting agency that manages the property I rent. I reported my concerns with his attitude to the letting agency last year and was not looking forward to seeing him ever again.
About 8pm, I'm watching Netflix with headphones on and someone walks past my front window; beyond which is a small garden and a low wall separating it from the street. I can hear voices over my noise-cancelling headphones, I get up and unlock the front door to see WTF is going on.
The first thing I see is a couple on the street looking straight at me, including the woman who walked past my window and the guy with her says "alright", no explanation as to why his partner was in my garden. Then I immediately notice my neighbour from hell stood on my driveway with his children, he says "how are you? alright? we were chasing cats". I ignored the social etiquette from both parties and simply state "I saw someone go past my front window". The neighbour repeats "we were chasing cats".
Part of my brain is thinking what the fuck kind of reason is that? and why are you, douchebag neighbour, stood on my drive, as if its an extension to your property? the other part is thinking maybe the cat was hurt?
I answered "Right" and shut the door. Everyone dispersed.
I checked the CCTV, hard to say if the cat was injured, it was acting strangely, possibly hit by a car?
I saw the cat again today, it did not seem injured.
This cat frequents my garden all the time, I have no issues with that
What I do have issues with is people coming onto my property boundaries and not giving what I consider valid reasons, especially a neighbour who has made living here very unpleasant. It just all felt intrusive, invasive and disrespectful, while giving shitty excuses.
