Bring fog in closer to the player to emphasize the distance of far away objects, similar to older versions of the game. (Same render distance)

:Terrain:[Terrain]:Terrain:

Currently fog is only used to hide world edges which is fine, but in older versions of the game it also came much closer to the players view and made things feel a bit more far away and just bigger. Maybe its just a nostalgia thing but i really miss the fog the game used to have. It definitely shouldn't obscure your view or render distance, just subtle enough to give a bit of haze to distant terrain. With the cave and cliffs update I've noticed this even more so. Its almost like you loose a sense of depth and how far away things actually are because everything seems so evenly lit and colored. The mountains you see in the distance feel much closer when there's no contrast in color between a hill next to you and a jagged snowy peak in the distance. Many games use a subtle effect like this to emphasize terrain and space in the world and i think it'd be a nice change to see, as tiny as it may be.

I tried to use optifine for a similar effect but imo it could be a bit more intense than what i was able to do:https://imgur.com/a/6hWOxj2
