Likelihood of transmitting HSV-1 via a kiss on the neck?
Okay so last week I was at a club with a lot of people and a drunk girl came up and kissed me on the neck. I learned last night that she has had HSV-1 for over SIX YEARS. I did not see a sore on her (I know this doesn’t matter) and there are photos of her from that night that clearly prove that. I immediately ran to the bathroom and washed my neck with warm water. I always test yearly for HSV 1 & 2 and do not have it.
I understand that HSV-1 is extremely common and nothing to be ashamed of, so don’t take this post as someone who is being condescending in any way. I’m certainly not, I’m just worried. I’ve done so well by being abstinent and being a “good boy” and now I feel as if it’s all over now. All because some drunk idiot came up and pretty much assaulted me. It was a light peck on the neck, but still. It’s got me worried.
What say you guys? Is this something that is likely, or is it unlikely?
