Is it normal to get lost in parks/woods?

Climate & Environment

I recently went to Flat Rock Park in Columbus GA and got hopelessly lost. After hanging out with my friends, for the first time in the park, it was time to leave. Not realizing the park only had one entrance and exit, I went the opposite direction from where I came in because I thought "obviously the exit must be in the other direction." I was wrong. Terribly wrong, but at this point it was getting dark and I needed to turn around to find the spot where I came from, but once I did I came across 3 identical forks in the road. There were also no signs pointing to where the entrance/exit was. After some more wrong turns to find my way back I gave up and waited for help.

I just need to know if this is common or not, or if I'm just dumb.
